Verden, Germany (July 22, 2014) – Devon Kane and her 11-year-old Danish gelding Destiny have been invited to compete at the prestigious International Dressage and Jumping Festival Verden, held August 6-10, in Verden Germany.  The pair will compete in their debut show performance on European soil in the Large Tour at the CDI3*.  One of the most popular horse shows in Germany, Verden boasts international dressage and jumping competition, as well as the FEI World Dressage Championships for Young Horses and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere.

Although this will be their first CDI outside of the United States, Kane and Destiny have a long history of success in international compeition.  She had multiple top placings during the 2014 Adequan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida, and has spent the summer working with Olympian Hubertus Schmidt, riding his horses as well as her own, to hone her skills in the arena.  She also spent over a decade training with United States Olympic Bronze Medalist Michelle Gibson, and worked with Olympic Bronze Medalist and USEF Developing Coach Debbie McDonald.

Kane now heads her family’s Diamante Farms, where she has focused her career on competing on the international stage.  She brought up her own horse Destiny from being a barely-broke four year old to a Grand Prix champion several years later. Her achievements include winning a USDF Gold Medal in 2012, a USDF Silver Medal in 2010, and a NAJYRC Gold Medal in 2007, and now with Europe before her she and Destiny will strive for dressage excellence among the best riders and horses in the world.

“I’m extremely excited to show at Verden,” said Kane.  “I’ve been there as a spectator a few times and it is a beautiful facility and I think a good match for Destiny right now. Plus we will get to watch the World Young Horse Championships and cheer for our American friends!  I’m ready to get into the show arena here and am so grateful for Hubertus’s assistance!”
