Devon Kane Takes the Reins of Destiny and ShowChic Turnout Award

Wellington, FL (March 15, 2015)— She has sparkled all season in Florida, dressed to the nines for philanthropic events like the Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center Annual Auction and Dinner, or while hosting the USEF Youth Dressage Program at Diamante Farms— where she is head trainer. But what earned Devon Kane the ShowChic Turnout Award after her CDI jog during Week 10 of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival was her graceful ability to serve as the human companion to Diamante Farms’s beautiful 16.2-hand dark bay Danish (Diamond Hit x Rubenstein I) Warmblood gelding, Destiny.

The 2014 US Dressage Finals Grand Prix Champion, who resides in Wellington year-round, took Destiny through their jog with an eye towards the week’s Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special classes. She told Michele Hundt, owner of ShowChic, the official CDI Jog sponsor throughout the show series, “The judges here look nice, so I want my horse to look nice. I keep the bar up, for myself, and out of respect for my horse and the ground jury.”

Partnering with Omega Alpha, Equiline, and Kastel Denmark to sponsor the CDI Jogs, ShowChic presents its Turnout Awards to select equestrians whose style and coordination complete the look of a true horse-and-rider team. Those selected receive a ShowChic Turnout Award Winner ribbon, bag of ShowChic goodies, and special prizes from the Jog co-sponsors. For Kane, setting stylish high standards earned her a new Kastel Denmark show shirt and jacket.

She’s also setting a good example about showing in front of eminent judge and ground juries. The Grand Prix rider puts just as much energy into being a coach and support system for her own students: Amateur Small Tour rider, Abigail Hardy, who marked Week 10 at the Global Dressage Festival as her CDI debut, and Mackenzie Jenkins, who showed her own horse at Prix St Georges and also a horse for Kane in the national series.

“Cool. Calm. Comfortable,” Kane said with a laugh. “That’s what drives my style and my life.”

ShowChic— sponsor of the 2015 ShowChic Turnout Awards for the Adequan Global Dressage Festival CDI Jogs— provides high fashion, popular brands to keep the modern dressage rider dressed to impress the judges inside the box as well as ringside fans.
